Electricity Back Africa at night

A grid of electrical power throughout the Congo is not in the near future. Besides the largest cities, there is no access to electricity except through a random generator here and there. Please visit  The World Atlas of the Artificial Night Sky Brightness.   Note the darkness of Africa, especially central Africa and the Congo.

The hospital in Bulape has a generator which runs only several hours a day to assist surgical operations and run lighting.  With a more reliable and powerful source of electricity, the hospital could provide much improved care, especially after the acquisition of more medical and diagnostic equipment. Presently there is no electricity to the schools and outlying areas around Bulape.  “Free” power sources such as solar, water, and wind must be investigated and utilized more.
